Cape Town
The sight of majestic Table Mountain and the people who live beneath it are as welcoming today as
they were when the first weary explorers and sailors named it 'The Tavern of the Seas'. The looming crags, a striking landmark, provide a magnificent backdrop to the vibrant, friendly city. Set between Table Mountain and the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The oldest city in South Africa, it has cobblestone streets, colourful street markets and an array of excellent shops and restaurants making it a delight to explore. From Cape Town east to Port Elizabeth lies the Garden Route an area of extraordinary scenic beauty where tranquil winelands give way to craggy mountains, small bays and golden beaches, towering cliffs and primeval forests.
Johannesburg
Once a small gold mining town and now Southern Africa's largest city and a major financial and industrial centre, offering excellent shopping and entertainment. From Johannesburg you can join a safari in the Kruger National 
Park, with approximately 145 mammal species it is possible to see all the classical big game including elephant, black and white rhino, hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra and buffalo. Large carnivores include lion, leopard and cheetah. If you want more action then Sun City is the place for you, a fabulous resort complex that captivates visitors with its combination of golf, gambling, game and land and water activities in the Lost City and Valley of the Eaves.

When to go
Capetown, Winelands & Garden route - November to April; Game viewing is best between May and August.
